READ FOR THE RECORD 2009 – Break the Guinness Book of World Records
Read for the Record is a campaign to bring awareness to the importance of early childhood education and literacy. In its fourth year, this event will attempt to break the world record for the largest shared reading event by encouraging people of all ages from around the world to read the same book on the same day.
Book: The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
On Thursday, 8 October 2009, pledge to join us in this meaningful event by signing up to read The Very Hungry Caterpillar together with hundreds of thousands of children and adults around the globe.
Childcare centres who are keen to participate in this campaign, please e-mail us at enquiry@ilovechildren.org by Tuesday, 6 October 2009 to register.
Kindly note: To participate, you can either borrow the book from the library or purchase it from the bookstores. I Love Children will not be able to provide your centre with a copy of the book.
